Antique Ebonized Chess Pieces
The Stockhill Corporation is proud to
introduce its new line of Pre-Staunton Recreations. Our first
offering is Ashoka Series. This Antique set is offered in Ebony,
Ebonised, Red Sandalwood and Boxwood. The Ashoka Series is highly gorgeous and
limited edition set. It is triple weighted. The chessmen are cushioned with fine
billiard cloth and each King has a pure leather base pad. The standard configuration includes
four Queens and a fine single partition box, divided and lined in
fine billiard cloth, with brass quadrant hinges. Bud
Rosewood is a Red burgundy-colored exotic wood that is tight-grained,
resilient, and more expensive than ebony. The set can be purchased with an optional
fitted rosewood case, if so desired. This limited production set comes with a manufacturer's
label bearing its unique production number, along with a certificate of authenticity.
These sets are a unique, beautiful, and relatively inexpensive way to own a
piece of chess history.
